What should I wear?
Long pants and closed-toed shoes are a must. Choose well-fitting clothes suited to the weather, and consider layering riding is an active sport and you'll warm up quickly.
Should I bring anything?
Just a water bottle. Staying hydrated matters, especially in warmer months.
Are helmets provided?
Yes. We provide a helmet for you to wear while riding.
What's the right age to start?
We typically teach riders 6 and up the key is being able to follow directions on horseback. For ages 4–6, we offer shorter 30-minute lessons. No prior experience is needed, though kids with a background in other sports sometimes find the coordination comes a little easier.
What style of riding do you teach?
English riding. We find it builds better balance and less reliance on the saddle. We also have students ride bareback to develop balance, muscle memory, and confidence. If you ever switch to Western later, very little changes mainly hand position and using one rein instead of two. (And jumping is a lot of fun!)
When are lessons held?
In warmer months, lessons are usually early morning or late afternoon. In winter, we schedule around midday when it's warmer and more comfortable to ride.
How long is a lessons?
A full hour, including the time to catch, groom, and saddle your horse before and after. Actual riding time is typically 30–40 minutes — the rest is the hands-on horsemanship that makes a well-rounded rider
How do I schedule?
The easiest way is to text 404-368-3786. Include a little about the rider's experience so we can pair them with the right horse.
Are lessons year round?
Yes — we teach year-round.
What about cancellations?
We cancel for inclement weather or emergencies (our ring is outdoors). If the weather looks iffy, just text and ask. Need to cancel yourself? A quick text is all we ask. No-call, no-shows are subject to a $25 rebooking fee.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. We specialize in beginners — and in younger, older, and timid riders. Our focus is education and natural horsemanship in a relaxed, non-competitive setting.
Which horse will I ride?
Beginners start on our calm, patient horses. As your skills and confidence grow, you'll have the chance to move on to more challenging ones.
What can I expect at Breezy Hill Stables?
A small, family-owned stable that values learning over competition. We keep things beginner friendly and laid back, with no commitments and pay-as-you-go lessons. As riders progress, there's also the option to take part in local schooling shows.
